Spelling Mania!

This year was the first year that 3rd grade was invited to participate in the National Spelling Bee competitions.  Today, our classroom winners went up against the best of the best from our school.  Each classroom from 3rd through 6th grade sent competitors.  I was so proud of our students.  Although they were very (VERY) nervous, they all did an amazing job.  Congratulations to Ella, Emilia, Forest, Sidnie and Zaiden!  Get ready for next year! Fables have also been a big topic in our classroom over the last couple of weeks.  Each student was assigned a fable to read, study, and understand.  Next, they each created "Story Necklaces" containing artifacts representative of the story.  Today, students began sharing their fables with their classmates.  What fun we've had gaining new understanding in the morals from these often silly stories.       Read full article »

Shakespeare's Globe Theater

Mrs. Fehrenbacher is kinda a Shakespeare nut. It's a tradition in her classroom to end the year with a production of a few of his most popular plays.
